rethinking prediction markets
How I reframed and repositioned prediction markets into casual finance entertainment. An exercise in product and design thinking for an emerging market that has taken the world by storm.
I wanted to create an experience that didn't feel like I needed to be a financial analyst to understand prediction markets. No charts, no obtuse jargon, just scroll, swipe, trade. Like if tinder, and tiktok had a baby.

the discovery
I knew I wanted to create something a little different. The leading prediction markets (Kalshi, Polymarket, etc.) all felt so indistinguishable. I wanted something that felt new and easy, but also familiar.
I started with more of a pinterest discovery view, that would open into something more like a social feed. After early interviews I decided to just jump into the feed.
the launch
With a huge twitter post (2m views), perfect timing (NBA playoffs), and frictionless onboarding we saw traction that is almost unheard of. Then we themed it for the world cup driving a massive global push.
Over 250k new accounts created, over 80k new wallets created, and over 430k contracts booked in the first 30 days.
